  1. Divide the numerator by the denominator.
  2. Write down whole number answer
  3. Write down any remainder (R) above the denominator.

Converting Mixed Fractions to Improper Fractions

How to convert a mixed fraction to an improper fraction ?

  1. Multiply the whole number part by the denominator of fraction part.
  2. Add that to the numerator of fraction part.
  3. Then write the result on top of the denominator.
