Adding and Subtracting
When we add (or subtract) odd or even numbers the results are always:
Operation | Result | Example |
Even + Even | Even | 4 + 6 = 10 |
Even + Odd | Odd | 6 + 1 = 7 |
Odd + Even | Odd | 7 + 6 = 13 |
Odd + Odd | Even | 1 + 5 = 6 |
The same thing happens when we subtract instead of adding.
Multiplying
When we multiply odd or even numbers the results are always:
Operation | Result | Example |
Even × Even | Even | 4 × 6 = 24 |
Even × Odd | Even | 2 × 7 = 14 |
Odd × Even | Even | 5 × 4 = 20 |
Odd × Odd | Odd | 7 × 5 = 35 |
